About Me

William is currently a Senior Systems Engineer who has been working in the IT industry since 2010. William began his career as an Information Systems Technician in the U.S. Navy. He served from 2010-2014 and was deployed twice to the U.S. 6th fleet area of responsibility. Along with achieving the rank of E-5, William obtained numerous awards and accommodations during his time in the service. Some of the awards that William received are Two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, One National Defense Medal, One Good Conduct Medal. Upon separation from the Navy, William pursued college attending Manor College and La Salle University from 2014-2019. William earned a B.S. in Computer Science - Information Technology with a minor in Business Administration (3.62 gpa) and an M.S. in Information Technology Leadership (3.83 gpa).

  • Task Automation 

    Automation of day to day tasks using PowerShell and Bash to handle tasks such as updates, AD maintenance, SQL monitoring, performance, storage, security threats,  and file transfers. 

  • Active Directory Administration

    Creates and maintains AD objects for users and groups. Implements group policy to secure computers and users. Automates AD tasks such as disabling users that are inactive and updating users attributes based on information from the HR system.         

  • Server Administration 

    Administers multiple networks with over 30 servers in a hybrid physical/virtual environment.

Throughout the past 12 years, William has come had experience in a multitude of roles. William started as a help desk technician but swiftly moved to a network administrator role while in the Navy. Here he learned the basics of networking and server administration. After he was honorably discharged from the Navy, William worked toward his goal of obtaining a college degree. While at La Salle University, William worked as a junior systems engineer learning a vast audio visual network. Upon graduation, he started his current role with the City of Philadelphia while working towards his M.S. in Information Technology Leadership. He currently work on physical and virtual servers, internal website development using html, css, javascript, php, and PostgreSQL. He also manages active directory, assists with database administration, software support and any other issues that may arise.
